Along with the CoPR you get a form which needs to be completed for kids immunisation. The form lists the ones that are expected to be done.
Really? When you get CoPR you need to fill immunisation form for your child?

Hi All

Have just got passport stamped for PR. Validity for landing in Canada is till 30th Nov'15 as spouse's passport is valid till that date. Planning to fly to Toronto by 1st week of Aug'15 by which time spouse's passport validity will be little less than 4 months.

1. Will the less than 6 months validity be a problem at Indian Immigration at the time of exit? or will COPR be proof enough?

2. If airline we choose has stopover in London or Brussels would those countries' immigration have any problem with the passport validity when we pass through for connecting flights?

3. After spending 2 to 3 months in Canada and collected our PR cards, insurance cards etc, we intend to return to India for winding up some other stuff which can't happen prior to leaving. If return to India is around Oct'15/ Nov'15, by that time passport validity will be less than a month. Will that again be a problem as on point # 1 and 2 mentioned above?

4. One option to avoid Q3 is to renew passport at Indian embassy in Canada before returning. But in his case our permanent Mumbai address is not in the 'machine readable' sections of his passport;it was given to him as a hand-written endorsement on a separate page inside. Any idea if that would create any problem for renewal in Canada?

5. Also anyone has experienced Indian passport renewal in Toronto recently? While their websites mention 1 to 2 months, does it actually take that long?

Looking forward to guidance on the above from experienced group members pls!!

thanks
Aasa

1. RPRF Fee can be paid online by credit / debit card (I Paid using my ICICI Debit Card). Refer below link:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/infORmation/fees/index.asp

The fee is CAD 490 or INR 24,200 per Adult. There is no fee for child under 18. Else you can send of equivalent amount of DD payable at New Delhi, if your visa office is New Delhi.

2. All the docs (Medical Receipts, PCC, DD/RPRF Fee receipts, Passport bio pages etc.) are required to be sent to your Visa Office. Please read the letter which you have recd. for your Medicals. It states "Please mention our complete file no. on you correspondence and address your correspondence to High Commission at the address indicated below" ------- Check what is the addres mentioned below. If your VO is NDVO, then the address will be:

Immigration Section,
7/8, Shantipath, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi - 110021, India

If any other address, then send it to that address....

Best of Luck...

Has ndvo stopped issuing medicals altogether?? What is their problem. No mr for last almost 2 weeks. More than 50 days since second line update. Why are they playing with our lives like this? Extremely disgusting way of working by ndvo.
Hi Jigyasu,
Even me same NOC: 1224, waiting for MR from almost 45 days.
Actually as this NOC very few applications overall and all NDVO also have few applications.
Have'nt seen any MR for this NOC from NDVO. Not sure if anything wrong with this Occupation.
But time is stuck, not able to plan anything.
Anyways, lets us see few days and apply for GCMS notes.

- NO. This will not be a problem as long as you show a return ticket to India dated before your spouse's passport expires.

2. If airline we choose has stopover in London or Brussels would those countries' immigration have any problem with the passport validity when we pass through for connecting flights?
- No. This is not a problem. They wouldn't mind.

- No. You can return back to India even one day before your passport expires.

4. One option to avoid Q3 is to renew passport at Indian embassy in Canada before returning. But in his case our permanent Mumbai address is not in the 'machine readable' sections of his passport;it was given to him as a hand-written endorsement on a separate page inside. Any idea if that would create any problem for renewal in Canada?.
- Not sure about this. I think you should be residing there for at least 6 months. Best option would be to check with the Indian embassy in Canada when you are there.

5. Also anyone has experienced Indian passport renewal in Toronto recently? While their websites mention 1 to 2 months, does it actually take that long?
- I do not have experience on this one.

Looking forward to guidance on the above from experienced group members pls!!

thanks

Hi Aasavari,

Congratulations on your visa and PR!

I am newbie to this group, but quite experienced in traveling multiple countries for decades. Please see my response above.

The 6 months timeline is important when you apply to any embassy for visa. At that time, your passport must have at least 6 months validity. Not when you travel.

Hope this helps!

All the very best in your transition!

NO, Travel card will not work here, they are mostly for the tourists/visitors and all will work with PR/immigrants is in the form of Cash & TC (traveller's chq).
NOT mandatory to bring all the money which you have showed at the time of Application (POF)

If carrying more than $10000 cash you need to declare at immigration check with an additional form.
Hi Palak,

Many banks say they dnt issue TCs these days..instead they insist that we take Cards...Shouldn't Cards work if accompanied by the Statement?

Also when you say the entire POF doesn't need to be declared, how much exactly do we need to show and how do we calculate that?

Thanks in advance...

Hi
We are preparing for a short landing in May.
We will open an account with HSBC Canada from Dubai and transfer proof of funds to this account .But this account can be activated only after
we personally visit HSBC Canada branch and the account statement will not be available till this time.
Can we show the receipt of fund transfer to the immigration officer and will it be accepted as proof of funds ?
We will be carrying some cash for immediate use...Kindly advice
