No, you are a holder of an immigrant visa. You become PR or landed immigrant WHEN you land and BSO stamps your COPR.
As per your question, once you land you are entitled to enjoy mobility in Canada in any way you like.

Let me put it this way.

Technically - You have Visa and COPR but this only means that your are legally eligible for immigration. You become PR only after completing the immigration process at your port of entry after landing.

A proof of this status can be a SIN card that you will get after landing in Canada and applying for it.

Specifically to your question- After you (principal applicant and dependant both together) have landed in Canada under FSW Immigrant visa at any Port of entry (In your case Vancouver) and completed the immigration process, you can travel to separate destinations (Even without a SIN card at that point).

This will not be applicable to Provincial Nominees.

Dear experts
I got PF in March 2015 on my immigration history. I sent all relevant docs within March. Since then no update, asked for GCMS couple of times, but no update except review in progress. This is more than 9 months since I sent them additional docs. Please note, I have visits to number of places. I also raised CSE many times, got no reply. Any idea why its taking so long? Is it normal?

Need your Suggestion and guidance.

I am an FSW-2014 applicant with Visa Office : NDVO ( New Delhi).

I got PPR email today for my passport submission. My Application took longer time due to change in My Family Composition ( new born child). My Medicals were done on Feb 23rd 2015 and i heard that the Iniitail PR VISA is stamped with validity of one year from my Medical Riceve date . So in this case my PR VISA ( If stamped) will be valid till Feb 23rd 2016.

Questons : 1. Can i request NDVO office to transfer my File from INDIA to US so that i can do the passport Submission/stamping in US? If yes , how do i inform NDVO office ( throuh email or physical mail ) and how much will the expected time frame for the whole process?

2. If the File transfer takes more than a month time will i be asked to undergo medicals / PCC again ?


any one with similar experience , Please share.

Visa printing can be done at any office. Send your passport to CPC-Ottawa with a return shipping label from Fedex and the RFV letter from NDVO if you are located in the USA

1) yes it is the pasport submission letter usually referred to as "ready for visa"
2) no. Just send it directly to Ottawa, but don't forget to include prepaid self-addressed return label from Fedex.
