Please help me with this. I am super scared based on what I am hearing from different people. My bf is an international student from India who entered Canada on student visa and student permit in Sep 2011. His program got over April 2013 and he went to India for a month for his brother's wedding. His student visa is valid till Aug 2013 and his program is now over, however, he qualifies for one year work permit that we intend to apply. His graduation letter got available just last week. My worry and question is
1.) Would he face any difficulty while entering Canada? Could they reject his entry because his studies are over and work permit is not applied yet?
2.) What should he confirm if asked for his status at the port of entry?
3.) Should I apply for his work permit immediately? The reason I want to delay is because I want to show his status as common law and fear that if I update it as "Common law", they might red flag him as possible immigrant.
PLEASE HELP! HE IS DUE TO ENTER NEXT WEEK! I AM REALLY FREAKING OUT! Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
