I got my PR in Canada in 2009 and moved there. I stayed there for 2 maths and came back to my home country. Revisited Canada for a month in 2011. My PR cards expired in 2014. Can I re apply for immigration ? I did not know that I had to renounce my PR and still have the cards and landing papers.

Sure you can reapply once you have renounced your current PR status assuming you meet the requirements for a PR application from scratch again.

Have you considered entry via US / Canada land border taking gamble you do not get reported and then stay 2 years without leaving to reset your residency as opposed to renouncing/reapplying. Even if reported you can appeal and as a PR you would still be entitled to enter the country but if successful you avoid having to start from scratch with a PR application which may or may not be successful.
