Hello,

Can any one please highlight how old can the rcmp certified criminal record check be when submitting to cic? And what is the validity of it? Thank you.

"The certificate must have been issued no more than three months before you submit your application."
And I think they are usually good for one year after they give it to you.

Read here for more info:

Kaytea thanks for a prompt response. Please make it more clear to me as I have already submitted my application last year and now recently they requested rcmp certificate. I have one which is around 4 months old now would it be fine to submit it or I would have to get a new one? Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't take a chance at this point . Get a new one!

Any senior member please comment?

You have already been given the text book definition.

It should be less than 3 months old. If you want to submit the one you have, go for it. But it could be a problem.

The wording here is confusing as My application is already with them and it says when you submit your application it should not be issued more than three months ago. I just need to send them rcmp criminal check report would be it be fine as it is valid for one year?

I am in the same situation . I sent them one with my application but they have requested the most updated one again . So just get a new one. I dont think you wana risk your application for $45 .
