I submitted all documents for my CEC application on June 4th. Today I got an update in my profile with a letter for more documents. They are requesting a RCMP Police Check with fingerprints. However, I am a U.S. citizen (but currently living/working in Ontario on a work permit) so I already submitted fingerprints to the FBI and uploaded my criminal record results from the U.S. because that is what the CIC Help Centre told me I would need to do.
My question is, was I supposed to have gotten a criminal record from the U.S. like I did or was I supposed to just get this from the RCMP in the first place? Or both?
I am curious as to why they are requesting this if the Help Centre told me I would need results from the U.S. and have no criminal record.
