Hi All,

Can any one please confirm if RCMP is mandatory?

I have applied under cec category and submitted my original PCC, living in canada.
I remember while applying PR, RCMP was mentioned as non mandatory document.

Thanks

No it is not mandatory.

You will be given notice if you need to.

Correct. PCC from Canada is not required and CIC would request the RCMP check in case a name based
security check comes back unclear.

I am litttle worried as I received their email on 20th Feb:

This is regarding your application for permanent residence in Canada which is now in queue to be reviewed by a visa officer. Please note that you must submit original police certificates for you and any accompanying dependents for all countries where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18.
If you are currently in possession of any police certificates, which were not submitted with your original application, please submit them to our office now.

If you have already submitted your police certificates, do not apply for or submit new documents. We will contact you once your application has been reviewed by a visa officer.

Does anyne cosider in above email , did they ask specifically for RCMP?
If yes, I have to send with in a month time(before 20th March).

No, they did not request the RCMP. It looks like a standardized message. Just be sure you have submitted valid PCCs from all countries you have lived in (excluding Canada).

Hi

I am in the same dilemma guys as I have been gathering my PCC right now after I did my medicals yesterday. The PCC request did not state the need for Canada and just the 3 countries that I have been for the past 10 years.

Anybody here have finished or had the PR without securing a security clearance here in. Canada?

Canadian PCC is not required unless requested by CIC.
