Yes, but you don't have to do anything, CIC does it own Name Check. If they want prints they will ask you for them.

What if they do the name check and my name shows up?
I was charged in 2008, but never convicted. The charge was withdrawn. On May 6, I sent a request for File Destruction by e-mail. They received on May 7.
Can CIC still see my name? Would they still ask for a RCMP Background Check?

Please help!
