71st is definitely a discouraging draw!! But hope will always be an answer when there seems no light in the any direction!

If I remember correctly, last time when there were back to back draws, @AlliBatista created new thread in between and he created this one as well! I hope the 72nd will come next week!

All the best to everyone!! May the odds be in your favor!!

The most disturbing bit about todays draw is that with every draw that has taken place in the last 2 months , they have reduced the no of ITA's by 200 in each draw ...We have witnessed the ITA's have come crashing down from 3800 levels to 3400 level to 3000 level & now the new low of 2800 levels .That trend doesnt augur well ...only 2 logics come to my mind...either they want to clear everyone who has already got the ITA & give them the PPR so that they meet the target of new PR residents landing in the country for 2017 & a reduced ITA intake would allow them faster turn around time for the applications or they dont have enuf quota left for the year for ITA's or maybe seeing the pool , they know that there arnt many candidates left in the pool hence they want the scores to go up to 450 by year end so that they again have the window to play around with for next year when they start rolling out 3800 ita again...ur guess is as good as mine but truly am losing all hope now with this unpredictability

As much as I know, they were supposed to give residency to 72000 EE applicant. Is there any way to tell, how much of that # has been filled? As of now, there are over 67000 ITA has been sent and no way to determine how much left. Sitting at 420 for a while now and not sure whether 2017 will be my year or not? Any help would be appreciated.

That can happen only if they freeze the express entry system and then conduct 4 draws, so that no one can enter the EE pool newly or update their details to obtain higher CRS! :)

Sadly, thats not how it works. There are going to be people who have completed their IELTS and ECA in the next 7 or 14 days (before the next draw) and who enter the pool with a CRS above 435 which was the cut off today.
That's true but back to back draws can have a good impact

Supposing a renunciation rate of 30-35%, i think we still have at least 27000 ITA to be released.
This means other 10 draws like the last one, in the next 4 months. So there will be other back to back draws, because it doesn't make any sense to keep the CRS score so high (considering that in 2018 there will be more immigration request).

As you can see (in the category 421-430, between 17 and 30 august) we passed from 2468 to 2692; this means just 16 more people each day.
If next week we have a back to back draw, ITAs 2700-2800 then the cut can fall to 425.

I really hope to be right because i'm sitting at 425..... :D

Do you really think rejection is ~30%? Man that is really high, if you are right.
