@ Kearnixer:

Canada as many other developed countries (Australia, UK, etc), use their educational system for revenue for their countries, meaning it is a business. The competition is very high between the top 10 countries, that every country provide different incentives for international students to go there.

Canada had always made it clear that by studying you would have a chance to get PR, i.e. settle down and start a life.
Hence the new changes as well. Every couple of years they make new changes towards this route, because of the high competition.
This business is so profitable that I wouldn't go further into explaining as this is not the right place for it.

Having said that, at the same time, Canada puts rules to follow them, therefore yes of course, when you submit your Study permit and have an interview with the VO, you can't just say oh by the way I am going to study and never leave.
The same goes to Visitor visas and Worker visas etc.

The point is, in Canada things are simple, if you apply for a Study, your goal is to study, period. No need to think more or explain more, now if after you study you want to change your plans, then yes there is 1000 ways to do it, every province has special programs for students.

Once you are in Canada there are many ways to get PR, through different programs. For example many come here with 1-2 years visa as workers then they apply for CEC.
At the same time, many come here for 1 year work permit, they go to the border to renew for another year, and when asked by VO, they say they are planning to apply for PR and they get rejected.!!!

Why:
because as I said above, the plans in your head should stay in your head only. If you apply for anything you make sure you follow guidelines and make your case strong.

I remember a guy when he was asked in the airport (before getting his 1 yr work permit issued), how long he plans to stay, he said:
well my permit is for 1 year, however I would probably leave before that, because I want to go back home and start my own business.
This guy now has citizenship.

So my point is:
The answer to your thoughts is YES and NO.

:)

Thank you very much for saying that and the guy example is an excellent example.
As you said one's thoughts are one's thoughts there is no need to let the world know what's going in my head follow the rules, and then you are there.
When I read about this guy i smiled he's really a smart guy
Thank for sharing +1

Guys, a small help..Not related to our topic though.. My EE score along with my wife is at 463. Now that the CRS has breached the 470 mark i am hopeful for an ITA in the near future, God willing. My wife is pregnant and due in mid May. In the event of receiving an ITA in January and we delay our submission of docs for 3 months, it will still be April only with my wife's medicals not done as X-ray is not recommended during pregnancy. How do i tackle such a situation? Shouldn't i accept the ITA, submit all docs including my medicals but except my wife's medicals but supported by a Letter Of Explanation as to why the x-ray was not taken for my wife?? Then post delivery i shall submit my wife's medicals to IRCC..How is IRCC going to evaluate my case?? Any idea peeps...Thanks

This question has been asked 1000+ times and the answer is: It's up to you.

Solutions:
1. Accept ITA, arrange with radiologist to use protective shield and do full medical.
2. Accept ITA, do the medicals except x-rays, with the doctor sending an explanation using e-medical to CIC, and you have to use a special form for processing your file, however will be pending the x-ray test after your wife's delivery of the baby.
3. decline ITAs until end of Feb, so then you have 3 months to submit.

Your choice.

Good luck.

Do you guys think if it will touch 450 before July?
With current data in hand, that is very probable.

Funny to think that a few months ago, some people have been saying that CRS 500 is the new cut off and we will never see the scores lower ever again. But here we are hovering at 460+. So it's still possible to see the cut off lower.

But of course it won't stay sunny with rainbows forever. So if you can hit those scores, start applying and don't wait aren't further :)

Hi, in the changes, they had proposed introduction of ranking to be displayed. Has anyone heard about it i.e. whether in the profile, they intend to display what is my rank at present in the system?

Would be really interesting if they actually decide to do that....would make the EE system truly transparent

Just curious to know , every body gets ITA when draw score drops equal or lower to people's score or in each occupation they have another draw to give ITA to only 500 ITA out of 5000 in each occupation. For ex if my score is 450 and occupation is programmer so all programmers gets ITA or just few programmers at same or higher score .

All candidates at and above the cutoff score receive ITA, irrespective of their NOC or occupation.

I believe it's a lot of other factors too, that matter other then occupation.
Say, some has claimed max points on ielts, other on age factor.

So, I'd look at it as a bigger picture.

just my two cents.

Offtopic: If I do not respond to an Invitation to Apply by the deadline (WorkingHolidayVisa), I will be no longer in the pool and would have to apply again. That's clear.
But does it have an effect on my future applications, does it count as I have "used" it??
