Ah well so bummed, don't know why they did not include 2171.

Any members maybe who can guide me on identifying my correct NOC? I am working for one of the big 4 consulting firms, however my vertical is in Enterprise Intelligence and Analytics, and we are into implementation of Analytics projects, mostly dealing with data management, quality , visualization and all. My title as of now is Associate consultant, soon to be Consultant. Have I selected the right NOC or does my profile fit in any of the others?

Some facets of my job also fit into 2172, which includes working with dbms systems and analyzing data .

Are these NOC codes gonna change or are they expected to stay the same?
I have noc code 2171 too, unfortunately business intelligence specialist is a new role that emerged in the last 10 years so not very popular. Good thing is once we are able to land in Canada we should be able to add good value.

Hi all,

I have a CRS score of 455 and I will be loosing 5 points on Aug 21st on my birthday. Meanwhile, I have received NOI from OINP. Is it worth spending the extra $1500 or should I wait out as I am thinking the cutoff score can go 450 in Sept. Please advise!

Thanks!

This is something you need to ask for yourself. Did you look at the job prospects in Ontario for your role? If the prospects are good and you can get a role of your choice and Ontario is the province you choose to stay in then by all means start the application. Why do you want to wait? Once you have got citizenship you can move through out the country.

I have had a discussion with my manager after posting this , and the roles and responsibilities of 2172 are applicable to me as well, since we do deal with database systems and analysis of the same. Hence my roles and responsibility can fit in with 2172 too. Have changed my profile to reflect that.

I had little hope to get an ITA as points dropped to 444 on my b’day. But finally got a NOI from Ontario yesterday. Super excited now!! Hopefully things will fall in place going forward.

Those who didn’t get an ITA or NOI, have faith & a bit of patience!!

Sabka time aayega!! :)

BTW My NOC : 2174

Business intelligence is 2172, unfortunately the person who selected 2171 lost out on the ontario NOI. Big mistake.
Ontario has a lot of demand for BI. You can literally land and get a job in 2 weeks.

But then this is not just a one time draw and there are going to be more tech draws, since they have declared this separately on their website as a new initiative. So hopeful for the next one.

Oka, I have a rather peculiar query.

So, if someone receives a NoI, say for example for Alberta PNP, and lets it expire (that is does not accept it), will he be ever again issued NoI from the same province?
I mean, if he enters the pool with a fresh profile?

Hi guys, could you help me select the appropriate NOC for my application, I work in an IT consulting firm as an Analyst and mainly work on data processing in SAS and visualization tools like Qlikview, tableau. I have currently selected 2171, but in the above queries, i have seen everyone saying that BI comes under 2172

Computer. I definitely prefer to type when writing rather than actually hand write. Much faster like this. Also, computer based test spots are available twice a week here in Canada, whereas paper based tests are more like once a month to find a spot.
Awesome...
But do you think the listening section gave less time to read the questions in advance? I heard the example of the first section is gone in the computer test

Just like paper based, you get same amount of time in CBT to read the questions in advance.
