Okay so I have asked some questions in other threads and not gotten any replies...

I am wondering:

What a VO would consider "basic" knowledge of past relationships? An application got refused when the sponsored spouse was interviewed and the VO came to the conclusion he didn't know enough. I asked the member who got rejected because of this, but as of yet have not gotten a reply.

With regards to after the application is delivered(which I know from tracking it) when "should" I receive AOR, "if" they even send it.

With the AOR do you get a the client id number? or is that sent with the letter of approval/refusal of stage 1?

What time format have other members had in regards to the first stage approval? I know the sites says X amount of days, but I am looking for actual experiences. I have read things like 1 week to 2 months. I realize it varies, I am trying to find an average.

If the application was "in" CICs hands so to speak prior the the criminal record expiring but if it goes unopened until after will that be a problem? It was delivered the 28th of Dec, and the criminal records 3 month expiry is the 19th of Jan.

Thanks to all that reply! :D

I believe I have a good idea as to which forum member's post you are referring to. Bear in mind, the VO that is involved in that case. From what I've read here on this forum, that particular VO seems to be exceptionally suspicious (I'm not saying they're the only one, just keep that in mind). I'd say, if your relationship is really geniune (with obvious exception), you're probably going to be fine.

Timelines have changed since we applied, follow the thread created for your specific months' worth of applicants i.e. 'Dec 2012'. Again with exception, you can get an idea when yours is about to arrive by doing this. We got our 'Client ID' when we received our "Sponsorship Approval".

They may or may not ask for another one, but WAIT for them to ask for it (unless anyone else has other experience with that).

Hey,

For the spreadsheet for December you can see it in my signature, and there is a December thread if you want to join ( and be added to the spreadsheet, let me know!). come and join here ! http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/december-2012-applicantsthis-is-your-thread-t127077.210.html

For AOR: it's a hit and miss. Some people get it, some don't. It arrives by email, and most of the time it gives you the file number as well. But don't expect it, as not everybody gets one. THe time between AOR and approval is somewhere between a few hours, or a few weeks - CIC is very inconsistent. The approval comes in the form of email, or letter, depending on the person reviewing your case.

For the Criminal records: as long as it reaches CIC before the expiry date, it's OK. your application is stamp-dated when it gets to CIC, so it won't be a problem for your criminal records.
GOod luck for the process,
Sweden
