You know what? Originally I'd not have agreed but it definitely became fun. People get to step away from the issue and show some humor and that's always a good thing!

Its funny, I did not post anything controversial or had a head on with another member but my rating went down by 1. They should definitely have a history feature here, maybe its there just not enabled.

It would be easy to track why you were rated down.

It is a way for others to reward or punish us based on our answers and helpfulness on this forum. I think you should give me a positive rating for replying back to you so fast (i am just kidding).

yes it is casual. not sure why it was introduced, but we have been having fun with it in this thread, mostly complaining and ripping it off lol. Welcome to your first rating :)
 
yea rupeshari, i think everyone should give a +rating to each other, at least when they are replying to them, aren't they? i see u gave me one as well. thanx pal. and now i am having fun too.

OK, i make it a point to give a +to everyone henceforth if i reply to them or if they do so to my posts, fair? but i tried again for u, but it was not accepted, saying something a karma!!! what the heck? any ideas?
 
Only one per person per day. In fact, you shouldn't give it to someone you answer but to someone who answers you. I think that would be fair. What do you think?
 
ok, get that. 1 a day to everyone from me now on. tomorrow i will give u one again. but, i also think if i reply to someone, that means his post was worth it, no?
 
Well if someone asks a question that they could have answered themselves by reading through CIC website or just looking at other questions here, they may not deserve the +1. Personally, I would rather give +1 to someone who either answers my question accurately (even if I don't like the answer lol) or to someone who answers someone else's question (and the question was good or something I'd be interested in). But the way we rate could be different, nothing wrong with that.
 
now ppl, i have given +1 each to everyone on this thread -toby, karl, suin, tg, commonwlth, rk, maua, jobseeker etc..
