R u waiting for AINP nomination

Applied for AINP Semi-Skilled in July 2014, got the nomination in March 2015. All my friends who applied for AINP International Graduate same time I did never got their nominations (only file numbers). Sad but true.
Also, applied as a couple - seems like this makes a difference (getting priority processing).
Question: is it possible to apply for WP extension with AINP file number (not an actual nomination). CIC website's explanation is quite ambiguous and vague regarding this.

it is not possible to do WP extension with AINP file number. You need AINP nomination to extend WP.

I deadly hope you are right... but after experienced 2 christmas with those ainp guys... what I learnt is dont even hope for the best but prepared for the worst...LOL
