AINP news
This page outlines changes and updates related to the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program.

February 6, 2015

Many Alberta provincial nominees are asking if they can use their Alberta nomination for selection from the Express Entry pool.

Alberta did not receive additional certificates from the federal government to nominate people from the Express Entry pool in 2015.
Alberta will not be selecting individuals who have an Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) nomination from the Express Entry pool.
Alberta will not be providing confirmation of nomination for those who create an Express Entry Profile.
The AINP will continue to operate under existing program criteria. If you have received a nomination from the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program, you must submit your Application for Permanent Residence to CIC per instructions included with the nomination package and approval letter before the expiry date. See After you are nominated for more information.

There is someone who applied in semi-skill pilot project. He had the 4 years so he is planing to change the position to manager (same company) which works after 4 years also. He believes they are keep processing his application the same way.

wHY ainp is not updating with good news for international students.

We internationl students are very disappointing in alberta.

NO LMIA

Hi everyone,
I am kinda new in this forum and got a question. I finished my phd in Quebec last year and moved to Alberta a month ago. I got a job offer and currently working full time.
So I was wondering if you can give me advice on my situation!

Do u think I should apply for AINP or go for express entry? Which one is faster?

Any kind of advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Oh boy...have you checked the processing times before you came here? Its not only lengthy but they are not transperent and cooperative at all. You can always apply for both once qualify!

So is it possible to apply for both? I am on PGWP and I got 2years left!

You can always apply if you qualify, but to get nominated under AINP you have to wait at least 2 years! If I were you, I would move to BC or look for other options! I have been waiting for over a year already and so are many people in Alberta. I don't understand why you moved here..

Thanks for the reply.

So AINP processing time is kinda above a year! The only option left is EE which I don't believe I will have enough point to get selected!!
