So I am a bit confused in respect to how we can claim points for a nomination, if a miracle happens and we eventually receive the damn thing, would we be able to claim 600 points? I don't want to wait another 17 months ??? ??? ??? This is like more than 3 years of our lives spent in waiting for PR...
I have a AINP nomination (dated Dec 2, 2014). I wanted to claim 600 points in EE, since I am eligible for CEC. But I can't. AINP has confirmed me that nomination issued under previous system won't be able to claim 600 points. In my EE profile it says 'confirmation from province pending' since CIC is expecting the province to directly confirm to them (we can't upload our nomination and all). :(

So it's a paper application.

I think there is some sort of misunderstanding between the prov. government and federal. I saw somewhere on the forum that CIC emailed a form to people to fill out so that they get the 600 points. You should call CIC.

Which number in the file number shows you wat? Thanks!
If u look at the last five digit of ur file number under employer driven stream it starts like 27xxx, 28xxx, 29xxx and so on...under SRS stream its like 12xxx, 13xxx. For ppl under AWE in 2013 thiers are like 27xx, 28xx and so on..(only 4 digit for last number)
But since they dont use use FIFO its hard to know when we will hear back from them..but under employer driven stream ppl who got nomination in october were early december applicants with file number like 27xxx.so stuck at around tht number after october 17 when they changed how they process files..tht why i m surprized tht no one from december still got call...all this wht i wrote its just my guess work after reading all those post here so nothing solid.

Don't forget that in December they received only about 300 applications, so those people may have already received their certificates. Same could be applied to January. I think they are back to FIFO as they are working on November again. So Lets hope we will hear back soon.

Tht would be awesome if december ppl already got nominations but no one has confirm here yet..
I think in january there were 800 files so may take longer for us if they gonna move files FIFO..if not then god knows when..

Does the file number mean that I will receive (or I will be rejected) my nomination soon or it is just confirmation of receiving my application?

Well if they are processing Nov 2013 applications, then they are back to FIFO. Why do we need processing times then?

REMEMBER GUYS !! THEY UPDATED THIS IN 2014 WHICH IS STILL THERE :

AINP has traditionally operated on a first-come-first-served basis. For the rest of 2014, the remaining nomination certificates will be issued based on labour market information and industry general averages in recent years. This approach is fair because it means that more industries will be supported by the program. However, it does mean that some applications in sectors which have already received high levels of support will not be processed this year.
