so my wife applying visitor visa for her parents, she is PR. we are applying through new IRCC portal, we have selected reason for visor visa is to "unite with family memeber who is Canada as PR", so we as we are filling out the info in visitor visa, there's no provision for uploading photos as well letter of invitation. Has it changed recently, aren't they asking to upload photos and letter of invitation any longer? Also, will they notify to comlete biometrics or do that is something needs to be done proactively?

The type of documents to upload depends on the reason you selected for visa. If you select "to visit family/friends, there will be a provision for invitation letter etc. However, you have the "optionsl document "section, you can use that as well. You will be notified to complete biometrics after you have submitted your application.
