I'm a Canadian citizen trying to help my friend to come visit Canada and stay with me for a period of up to a month in December/January, and I'm helping her out with the paperwork. Unfortunately there are a few areas of the paperwork that are confusing to me and the visa centers that we have contacted have been less than helpful in some cases.
My main concern is the fact that they ask for evidence of a return flight, the thing is my friend is hesitant to book her flights, because if her visa application was to be rejected for any reason, she would lose hundreds on a non-refundable flight. Is this just a risk she has to take?
Also, they ask for financial statements, and though she definitely has enough to travel, we're wondering if it's enough for the people who process visa applications. Is there any specific figure that's needed?
