Hi,

My father-in-law and mother-in-law have been staying in Canada on super visa since March 2014 and their two year stay expires in March 2016.
Before this two year expiry, they decided recently visited Cuba for 7 days in Dec 2016.
Their country of citizenship is India and their super visa is valid for 10 years starting 2016.

Have got some questions:
  • Will their visit to Cuba (which they did before completing 2 years stay on super visa) allow them to stay in Canada for another two years from March 2016?
Since they are citizens of India, do they need to visit India after two year stay in Canada?
  • Is there a process to follow to their extend stay in Canada? If there is a process, what has to be done?
  • Do they need to have valid their medical check done before each stay in Canada?
  • Do they need to have valid travel insruance before each stay in Canada?

Some corrections to my original post.

2 year stay is not automatically granted. No stamp date means 6 month defualt i think. Else officers do allow in many cases 1 year.
While in canada u can apply for stay extentions. No remedical check is required when reentering but you need valid insurance all the time
