Hello,

Stupid questions but hopefully someone can help clarify for me.

I'm a Canadian citizen and my US-born child is a Canadian citizen by default. I'm sponsoring my wife for the PR so I have the following questions:

1. Per the guidance, it looks like I don't need to include my child anywhere on the application. Is this the right assumption? I'm asking because in form 5406 section B, there is a statement "I certify that I do not have any children" if you don't list any dependent child. This statement really makes me worry as it sounds like we are lying.

2. Regarding proving the relationship between my wife and I, wouldn't it help if we mention that we have a child together? If so, how do we do so without including and listing the child in the application forms?

Inputs much appreciated.

Hey

Double check the guide again, as it actually says for IMM5406, Section B: It is very important that you list all of your children (even if they are already permanent residents or citizens of Canada)

So your child must be listed even though he is already a citizen

canuck in uk is right. All children, irrespective of their status in Canada, MUST be included otherwise you may be charged with misrepresentation and your application refused.
