Questions on new citizenship application

Hi ,

I'm trying to fill up citizenship application for my spouse. With new format I have some doubts if some one can clarify

1. 9c During your eligibility period did you live outside of canada. Well we were 1 yr outside and 4 inside canada how should i ans this qn

2. 10a Do we need to include dates or mm/yyyy are sufficient

3. 11 It asks about name of contact ,email address and phone number my doubt here is
1. what is the contact number and other details if unemployed should i keep it as N/A
2. what is the contact number and other details if old company is closed and there's no one to answer in another country

1. No if not employed outside as crown servant. But write a covering letter and state you answered No since you were outside Canada but for the following reason......
2. If you insert date/month/year still when you print it will only print month/year. So no need for dates.
3. If unemployed just put in the next box like actively looking for job etc. Contact area put N/A.
4. Just put whatever info you have about the company and also state its closed .
I have tried to answer your query based on my experience filling the forms. Also to add I got AOR today.

KRP - I was also out for almost eight months working in Saudi. I am also confused on 9(c) as it simply states if we were outside for more than 186 days we need to fill up the Residence Outside Canada Form. But that form says that if you were out as crown servant / crown servant family member.
However in para 10, I have mentioned all the break down of my outside stay.
So do you think I also need to attach a covering letter stating that I was out because of job. A connected question...do I have to attach proof of employment also if I was out for work reasons.

Please advise

In Question 9c it was related to crown servants in which as KRP explained we need to do a cover letter. where as your eight months work is concerned Is it with in last 4 years as mentioned in Qn 10(b) in which case you need to submit pcc from saudi,

You will need Saudi PCC if you were outside during your eligibility period as per physical presence in last 4 years.
. For outside Canada if you were not a crown servant you could answer either Yes or No but add a covering letter so the officer is not confused and provide the details.

Thanks. But PCC is not given to ones who don't possess legal resident status in Saudi Arabia. I just need to put a note that since I am no more a legal resident hence cant be given a PCC per Saudi law. Am I right !!

9c. Correct but explain in cover letter.
PCC- If you do not have current legal residence status in Saudi Arabia, you are not required to provide a Saudi Arabian police certificate. If you are asked for a police certificate from Saudi Arabia, write: “I cannot provide a police certificate for the time I spent in Saudi Arabia because certificates are only available to people who have current legal residence status.”

hey guys, just a quick question. I was working in Doha for 8 months 2015- 2016 before leaving for Canada so before I left for Canada I brought the PCC along with me coz i knew for citizenship i would require it. Can I attach the same pcc or i need to attach new one.. i never went out of canada since i came from Doha...plz adive...to get pcc is a real hassle
