My boyfriend is applying for the BC PNP Skilled worker class and i'm joining him as his common-law partner. I just realised yesterday that when you get nominated for the PNP, you still need to obtain a work permit. As we are not in Canada at the moment and one of the conditions of getting the approval letter from the BC PNP, is that your current work permit should expire in 120 days. Does anyone know if my boyfriend can still apply for one, as he doesn't have a current work permit in Canada at the moment?
Also, does anyone know the procedure for applying for a work permit with the CIC? What are the processing times and is there a difference applying for that outside or within Canada? Thanks!
