Hello Everyone , With God Blessing i saw many Members who finally got Visa this year. We all are having conversation in PM . I think we must start a thread so that we can share our conversation , knowledge with others and let other members to jump in too.

My preparation so far :-

I am flying on 31 May 2016 8) through British Airways Via London ( 19h ) I booked ticket from ba.com . Cost me INR 43000 One Side per person.
As we all wants to save money , :) I searched alot about Air Tickets and i found that Tickets from Canada are much cheaper According to My country ( INDIA :-* )

I brought Private Insurance from my Bank ( HDFC ) . Cost me Around INR 15000 for 3 Members 90 Days With cover of CAD 100,000 For Parents and 200,000 for myself. :p
If you want cover in Canada http://accmontreal.org/treatment/planning-on-moving-to-quebec/
I will personally recommend you to must have Insurance even though you are healthy person there is no guaranty that you wont be in any medical situation :'(. I hope that it never happens to anyone but
" Hope for the Best ;D , Plan for the Worst "
Medical Treatments can be very expensive :-X

My Question is regarding House in Canada
As we all know we need to provide address on Airport for mailing.
Can we book an apartment from Outside Canada ? My friend told me that we need to sign lease documents. I searched on kijiji etc.
Can i book from here so that i can give that address on Airport ?
Need Advice on this situation , And if i change address in between PR cards mailing time where i can update the new information
Ty :) in Advance
Please share your preparation .

Best of luck for your landing nawabsaab,

I got my first apartment from Airbnb and Homeaway. They provide short term apartments. You can try searching for it. I would recommend taking UPS mailbox for 6 months and give that address everywhere, till you get your permanent house/rented house.

When it comes to changing address, I would advice that you change it as soon as you can. Once your card goes into production phase, address change won't work, at least it didn't in my case.

1) I booked it before landing.

2) Yes. You can use UPS mailbox for receiving PR cards. (Source)

3) Get a UPS mailbox. They require two pieces of Identification. I gave copies of my Passport and UK Drivers License. They also require Canadian address. Give ANY Canadian address, it doesn't matter at all. Do NOT use CanadaPost's Postal Boxes as PR cards cannot be delivered there. (Source)

bro i need to show proof of funds at airport m nt sure if they going to accept wire transfer or not
but lil bit cash and cheque or draft is gud i guess
Cic quote
These funds could be in the form of:

cash,
documents that show property or capital payable to you (such as stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills, etc.), or
documents that guarantee payment of a set amount of money, which are payable to you (such as bankers’ drafts, cheques, travellers’ cheques or money orders).
