Questions about being a sponsor while outside of Canada?

I have a few questions about sponsoring my spouse while I'm outside of Canada... I know you have to show proof that you will return to Canada. Would a return ticket and a letter from a friend stating we are going to move in together be enough proof? Would being outside of Canada be a risk that maybe I wont qualify as a sponsor?? Also at what point would I need to return to Canada- after I am approved to be a sponsor or can I be away for the whole process?

They want assurances that you are not going to send your family member to Canada when they get their PR visa and not come with them. Usually they want to see arrangements for housing, and a job or schooling, so they know you're actually coming back to settle. Normally they don't refuse an application because the sponsor doesn't provide enough proof that they'll come back - they just ask for more proof, and threaten to refuse the ap if you don't provide it.
