Question regarding "Proof of means of financial support" and "Client information"

1. I recently received a direct entry PhD offer from an Ontario university. As I will be a full-time graduate student, the funding letter states that I will receive a funding package of 26,074 CAD, within which my tuition and ancillary fees (approximately 9,000 CAD) are included.

To be safe, I plan to show additional financial proof of around 30,000 CAD, consisting of two of my father's account statements.

Is this the right choice? Am I showing too little or too much?

2. Should I upload only my Statement of Purpose (SOP) in the client information section? Or do I also need to upload my upfront police verification, IELTS certificate, academic transcripts, and all other documents that IRCC did not explicitly request?

You’ll likely need the 30k if not more just to survive in some cities.

Congrats on the direct PhD offer. That’s a strong position to be in.

For finances, your plan makes sense. Your official funding already covers tuition and part of living costs, which is the most important part. Showing an extra 30,000 CAD from your father is neither too little nor too much. It simply shows stability and a backup. Just make sure the statements are clear and that you explain the relationship and support in a short note.

For the client information section, keep it focused. Upload your SOP there. Only add extra documents if they clarify something specific. If IRCC did not ask for police clearance, IELTS, or transcripts at this stage, don’t upload them. Too many documents can slow things down or cause confusion.
