My wife has a job offer as a cook at a restaurant in Calgary, Alberta. However she does not have a high school diploma will this disqualify her from getting a work visa?
We are trying to immigrate to Canada because she can not return to the U.S. where I am a citizen because she was an illegal immigrant from Mexico. Now we are living in Mexico and wish to immigrate to Canada.

Any information would help.

Thank you

In Alberta, Cook is an optional certification trade. Employer can offer job to people who are not journeyperson but will be trained/supervised at workplace but then the employed has to register as apprentice.
If you have other questions of job as Cook, contact Apprenticeship and Industry Training in Alberta. Depending on which town you are going, you need contact local office.

Not having a high school diploma won't matter for a cook's position. What's more important is proof that she has training and/or experience for the job.
