Question Regarding Implied Status

My study permit expires on August 31st and I have applied to extend the study permit. I am planning to travel back to my home country and come back on August 15th before my current study permit expires. I am wondering if i can stay in Canada as a student under implied status after the study permit expires in case my study permit hasn't extended.
