Experience gained in India and UK carry same points. Any experience gained outside Canada is considered foreign experience.

Thank you for the reply Jairichi!!

but to add to my question, Do you think a 7 months Indian experience would have got me any points?? Would that even count in the eyes of CIC??

Thanks

It is total foreign experience. Points for foreign work experience is under transferable skills along with level of English. Foreign experience for 1-2 years with CLB 7 is 13 points and 1-2 years with CLB 9 is 25 points.

Yes, 7 months and 1.1 years are not too far off, they are just 4 months away. Like other poster said the points are for your combined "total years of experience"
