Hi,

Earlier this year my SO recieved a multiple entry visa to Canada. We are planning to get married so in the invitiation to Canada for the visa I stated that he was my fiance. We are not planning on getting married for year and a half but will be reaching our one year mark of living together therefore qualifying as common-law. So I guess my question is, is it okay to apply as common-law? We would like for him to have his PR in Canada so that we are able to save more money for our wedding/honeymoon that we always wanted. Thank you kindly!

As long as you can prove a year of cohabitation, you may apply as common-law.
