Hi all,

When I was about 5 years old back in the late 80s my mother, little brother and I were issued a removal order in Canada. The way I come to understand it is that while we did leave the country to the US immediately my mother did not go through the proper process (I'm assuming it's because we then entered the US illegally) it turned into a deportation order.

I came to find out about all this when I was detained by border patrol when trying to cross into Canada via niagra falls about 5 years ago. After a few minutes of questioning they let me through but told me that I'd be st the mercy of the border patrol agent every time I go. I have been back four times since then to Montreal for vacation and have been let through every time after questioning.

I currently live in the US and have lived here since I was 5, currently in my 30s. I am fortunate to be able to say that I'm doing quite well here.N No criminal record, steady employment history and financially sound. I like visiting Canada for vacation and am working for a company that does a lot of business there and may have to start thinking about the possibility of going there for work even.

My question in a nutshell, is there any way to fix this do that I do not have to worry about one day being told no st the border crossing? I know that the ARC exists but would I have to go through that process every time I want to go vacation in Canada? Would a lawyer help out would it be a waste of his/her and my time?

If the answer to the previous question is no then I think my question about going f for work is answered a well?

Thank in advance for any feedback, I've been to the embassy here but it's pretty much useless if you re not a Canadian citizen.
