when I landed at the end of April, the customs officer told me I do not need to do anything to apply the first PR Card as they will apply it and I can receive it automatically. However, the ECAS still does not show any PR card status when I log in "Check your application status" in CIC website. Is that normal for anyone else? Many thanks.

Hi, that's correct. You don't have to apply. They'll mail it to you in about 2 months. Your ECAS status reflects the progress made on your PR application, not on your PR Card. So son't worry. Just wait for your card.

Thank you very much, very clear and helpful! ;) I raised this question because when I tried to log in ECAS, I found I can choose PR Card under My Application.

No worries! I am happy to help!

Yes, there is an option for Pr cards applications, but that is for PR cards applications after your initial PR card expired. In other words, you don't have to apply or pay fees for the first PR card, but after 5 years you have to apply and pay fees for a new card. So that option is for those cards.

Yes, I can confirm that. Landed on March 22 and received my PR card yesterday. I did not apply for the card after landing and my ECAS never showed any "PR card status".
