Hi all!

So, here's my situation. I currently have an ITA and will be submitting my application in the next 20 days. Along with this I will submit and application for a Bridging Open Work Permit as my current work permit expires on the 21st of May.

My partner and I (she also lives in Canada and we are doing a common law FSW EE application) are planning a holiday to Central America in May. The plan would be to return to Canada on around the 18th of May so my work permit has not yet expired.

My question, if my Bridging Open Work Permit has already gone through, am I on implied status from the day that permit goes through? Or from the 21st of May onward? Basically I am hesitant about coming back into Canada so close to the end of my work visa and not really knowing how my status will be viewed.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You'll be on implied status effective May 22nd.
