question for dependent child

Hello Everybody, thanks in advance for paying attention.
I am sponsoring my mother with one dependent son.
In the form, we have options "A" "b" and "c" for dependent child, does this a, b ,c refers to children if more than one ? In my case I have only one dependant, so Do I check the "a" while filling up the form. /
