Hello,

I am a full time employee and i have read the CEC requirements that i need to have 12 months of expereince. Does this 12 months include also vacation time? if my vacation time was paid and i took two weeks off during the 12 months can i still apply after or shall i finish then more than 12 months?

Can someone please share what they think?

Thanks,

you need to complete 1950 hours. full time work as per CEC is 37.5 hours per week.
you can count the paid vacation in this period. but i would say why to take chance. just wait for another month.

i was in the same situation so i decided to wait for another month rather then getting application rejected.

Good luck

Paid vacation is just like working hours. You were continuously employed for 12 months, and that's one of the important things that your reference letter should say.
It's not like you took a non paid leave, or even finished your employment with the company and were in between jobs.

just to be more precise, when we are talking about 12 months, it's for the international graduates ONLY. I assumed shells is a graduate. I am not talking about those who came to Canada on a work permit.

It is mentioned under the requirements for the CEC that "a foreign graduate from a canadian post secondary institution with at least one year of full time (or equivalent) skilled work experience in Canada". so one year is 12 months

I am not sure where you are refering? yes i didnt mention that im an international graudate in post. i have finished universtiy in Canada in 2010 and i have working ever since but i was a contractor and i knew recently that being a contractor wont allow me to apply under the CEC as it considers it as self-employment.

I am not an emplyee and i was wondering whether if i take time off will that count towards the time needed to apply under the CEC.
