Question about "proof of education" / Self-employed program

Can anyone advise on this, please:
If I'm applying for the self-employed program, do I need to assess my educational credentials to earn their points and have my degree acknowledged? Or do I simply send my university diploma with an application package?

As I've answered it in the 2020 thread recently:
Several applicants answered that in the 2018 thread, you may take a good look there. From the sharing (and my understanding), ECA is not a must but if you already have it done you can attach it to your application package and it may be useful if you eventually move to Canada.
