Hey guys

I did FSWP before Express Entry. A few of my friends have been successful with express entry and one of them got an Ontario Provincial nomination back in 2015 but is still in limbo the rest who went the fswp have all been approved. Another is now creating his Express Entry profile and he has gotten to where they ask what province or provinces he's interested in living in. Does selecting more than one hurt your chances of getting a provincial nomination? I've read that somewhere before I think. His score is above 400 but below 453 so we are hoping for a provincial nomination. Any advice would be appreciated.

Selecting more than one province will not affect your friend's chances of getting a PNP.

When it comes to Ontario, they do collect data from EE entry. In able to do that you need to express interest to Ontario as province. You can do that either by selecting directly Ontario or by selecting all provinces and teritories (but then you shall not tick other provinces). In both cases a clause under selection will activate. It will be stated that you agree with that data collection.
So the practical reason for Ontario requesting such selection is so that you will tick that acceptation with data collection. When it comes to your first interest in several provinces, this will not influence PNP nomination what so ever.
However applying to several provinces at the same time will (Expression of interest to other province is not a binding application, so that one does not count).

At the moment the main Human capital stream for Ontario is closed.

Thanks! I will tell him he can select more than one province as I know Saskatchewan and Prince Edward Island were doing PNP recently and hopefully Ontario opens up soon!
