Question about OWP

Hi there. I applied to common law sponsorship last March 2020 but I did not submit a OWP application as I have my own pos graduation work permit valid until November 2021. I am doing the process through Quebec and I am aware of the probably 15 months processing time. My question is: 1. Can I still submit my application for a OWP? 2. Will the new permit be valid until longer than my current one? As in, after November 2021?

There is zero point in applying for the OWP when you already have one valid for another 1.5 years.
