Question about mailing address

Hey guys:
I'm about to apply for immigration of CEC, however, I might going to the East in a few months, so can I leave my mailing address as my friend's address? It'll be different than my permanent address. Is that allowed?
Just want to be sure of this, if I leave my mailing add as my permanent add, I won't be able to check my mails.

If you look at the application form, you will see that there are places for both permanent and mailing addresses.
