Question about leaving country

My brother is getting married at the end of the month in US, where we are citizens, and of course I wish to attend. But I am in middle or PR application and nervous about leaving messing that up. Do I need to get permission or inform immigration of my intent to leave? Otherwise could I be denied entry back into the country? My kids and husband (who are canadian citizens) would be staying behind in Canada (where we've lived for the past year) Thanks in advance for any guidance!!

You can certainly leave. Whether you are allowed back into Canada will be up to the CBSA officer you encounter when you return. Given you are a US citizen and have a PR application in progress, you should have absolutely no issues re-entering. However it's never 100% guaranteed.

Thank you! Is there anything I could do in advance of leaving, is it helpful to inform immigration of my plan to leave for the wedding?

No - there's no in advance CIC notification process.

I left Canada several times (5-10) during my inland application being processed. Never had any issues getting back into Canada. Always made sure to bring my Work Permit with me so I could present it upon returning to Canada.
