Question about health insurance if holding PGWP and still finding jobs

In Ontario, one will not be eligible to have OHIP if holding a Post graduation work permit but do not have job offer.
How can I get myself covered between graduation, and get a job offer? I'll try to find employment but really I have no idea how long this period of unemployment is gonna be.
A lot of "travel insurance" have too many limitations such as excluding pre-existing conditions, so what kind insurance for now exactly can I have as a alternative to OHIP??? I know that in BC, all residents can have and must have MSP regardless of employment status, but wth is it in Ontario? Apparently I'm not visitor here.
Thanks.

I would suggest you get a private health insurance, they're expensive and THEY ARE ONLY FOR EMERGENCIES, but I learned my lesson when I was in the same situation, no OHIP (while on PGWP), and had to go to the hospital for an emergency (doctor thought it was appendicitis, it wasn't, I still had to pay $1000 just to get admitted and see a doctor).

This is where I got mine.

Most policies do just cover emergencies but the company you mentioned, TIC, also has an inpatriates to Canada plan, which covers stuff like regular check ups, vaccinations, eye exams etc. The only thing is that this plan has to be purchased for 1 year. Might be a good idea while you are looking for employment. And in case you are eligible for OHIP you will be able to get a refund and cancel private coverage.
