Hey all,

I have a good friend who just got his GCMS notes today. In the assessment section, it says "eligibility: failed". But no notes or reasons are given. What is happening? FYI, he applied from China, to be a PhD at UofT, fully funded.

Do u see the officer note at the very end of gcms?

What is the last time file got updated and the file generation time? There is always a reason. Just go thru it again. If it's not there then it'll be added soon (or must have added it by now).

If one were to be rejected, there should be a reason right?

Yes. They will type it out in the last page. If you dont see it, mayb application still in progress. Remember I see one case got approved, even though the comment is opposite to the decision.

I agree. It is unacceptable for a PhD of one of the best univs to be refused.
There could be other reasons for refusal apart from fully funded PhD. If the comment is not there, it might still be in progress and could be awaiting for a second review.
