HI, I just received an email from: Centralized-Intake-Office@cic.gc.ca

They sent me a letter in pdf to go and take biometrics.

I’m the sponsor (husband) living in Canada, the letter was for my wife living out of Canada, we did fill a couple of those representative forms and that’s probably why I received them. I forwarded it to her.

  1. What does that indicate in terms of file processing?
  2. There is no updates about this correspondence in eCAS. Is that normal?
  3. I still didn’t hear back from CIC about my eligibility as a sponsor ?!
Thanks in advance.

1. Your application is moving along nicely, I’d expect SA soon.
2. It will update at some point today / tomorrow if the letter came through today.
3. SA will come relatively soon I beleive.

Thanks for the positive thoughts…

I just checked the eCAS and they put:

SA: “Decision Made”, when I click on it they still have the old dates and no confirmation about approval or denial

PR: “In Process”, when I click on I see they put the new date when they sent the request for biometrics.

Didn’t receive anything by email yet…

4- Could “Decision Made” status mean a denial as well? While they send a biometrics request for my wife in parallel? I’m guessing they wouldn’t go that far asking biometrics if the Sponsor is not approved, would they?

5- What are the next steps after Biometrics for both Sponsor and Sponsored? Any indication for durations based on the latest forum experiences?

Cheers.

If you see decision made it’s more than likely accepted.

There’s a very slim chance it could be a rejection... However, I’m not fully sure if they can send a rejection letter or they send out another letter stating you’ve xxx amount of day’s to send further supporting documents out. I’ll have a dig around to see what I can find.

If you met all of the eligibility criereria everything should be fine.

I’d fully expect biometrics / medical requests to come to you within the next 5-10 day’s based on how others have tracked.

I just received a second email today for the medical. So in a couple days I received in a row requests for Biometrics and Medical.
No new still on the SA approval. Will see this week.

Hi Loren27, you know I don't remember all the details, but I quizzed my wife just now and what she remembers is that we received a letter online asking to go do the biometrics. then, in the following month we received the letter asking to go do the medical visit, and that one she had to pay the doctor office locally.
As far as the fees for the biometrics, I paid that at the beginning with all the immigration application fee. I believe they do mention that it's better to do it that way so you could save some time later. Not sure in your case if you paid them at the beginning or not. I believe they are $-85 when sponsoring one person.
Cheers.
