Question about e-cas

After looking up my status online, the last entry says that my file was transferred to the LA office in September. A lot has happened since then -- they requested my medicals, they requested my passport. So why is none of this recorded? I sent in my passport last month, and my status still says "in process". I have a feeling that something has gone really wrong. The anxiety and worry over this is literally making me ill, and I feel like I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. Does anyone have any advice or comments?

Missy observing other peoples experiences with Ecas over the months, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Some people's ecas never updates, even after they land. Its not updated for everyone and not truly reliable. I had a previous application withdrawn last August and it still shows in process
Your passport has already been requested so your visa was approved so don't make yourself ill because everything is okay

Missy, kelKel is right, I wouldn't worry about eCas not being updated at all.

I've received my PPR letter and eCas still doesn't even show that I am in process.

Thanks for your replies. I guess I'm probably getting my knickers in a twist for nothing. It's just that so much is riding on this, and a screw-up could have dire consequences for me. Thanks again

Just to provide you with more reassurance - my husband's ecas never said medical received. It also still said "in progress" after he received the passport request and continued to say "in progress" for a week after he had actually landed.

there won't be any record of the sponsorship application until they actually get to it and look at it. The first time you will be able to log onto eCas will be when there is a decision on your sponsorship application, which is usually about 30 or so days.

...sponsoring your family: For family members in Canada sponsoring overseas applicants, you can get information on citizenship and immigration programs in Canada by using the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Call Centre automated telephone service or speaking with a Call Centre agent. The Call Centre can also provide you with application forms for sponsoring your relatives from Canada and can make address changes for your address in Canada. You must be in Canada to use the CIC Call Centre.

...confirming receipt of documents and bank drafts: In order to best use our resources, we will not confirm whether we have received your documents. If you would like such confirmation, you can send your documents by registered mail. If you would like confirmation that we have processed your bank draft, you can contact the bank that issued the draft.

...an application in process:If you already have an application at our office, we will answer your question only if our average processing time has been exceeded or if there is a problem. Otherwise, you should assume that your file is proceeding normally. Processing time starts when your complete application has been received in our office and ends on the day the final decision (i.e. approval/refusal) leaves our office.

As you can see you will not be notified of anything unless you have been approved/denied or new documentation is required. As far as sponsorship goes, Mississauga has only begun processing applications submitted as of Dec 6th so it will not show any information until they have decided if the application to sponsor is successful. I find that very odd, since I received the letter from Immigration congratulating me on my approval and requesting my passport, on December 6, 2010. Wasn't the decision made then? I just don't get it. I sent my passport to the consulate in Los Angeles last month, they received it on December 28, and I still don't have it back. I'm not sure whether or not I should email them, or telephone them, or neither. I just feel really uneasy about this.

No some peoples Ecas chage long after they land Missy. Its just perhaps the IO updated late. You've already been approved. You'll be getting passport back soon!
