Hi Guys,

I'm a US graduate with bachelors and masters degree. Back in 2004, I was on academic probation due to bad grades and was not allowed to register for spring semester. Due to this restriction, I went out of status and this made sort of illegal in US. I was asked to come to immigration office, where the agent took my fingerprints and put me on removal proceedings. as per the documents I was arrested and released on my own recognition, never put in jail or detention center. I was asked to appear in front of judge for removal proceeding hearing. In the meanwhile, I started college again after 1 semester and later the case was dismissed by the judge. My status was re-instated as an international student. I went to complete my bachelors degree and then masters degree. I have all the documents with me.

I know that this is not a criminal offense but when I got my fib records, Its mentioned there "arrested or received" for this incident. need your advice:

1. Should I answer "have you ever been arrested Yes or No" on my application. Since the incident is very minor and happened 16 years ago, though FBI records says "arrested or received".

2. Will IRCC consider my inadmissible to Canada and reject my application or won't select me in draw, if I give YES as an answer to "ever been arrested"?

3. If I give NO as an answer then is it possible IRCC will ask police certificate from US and then ban me? It's more than 10 years since I left the US.

4. Other than the above my records are clean and never been in trouble for breaking any law.

Will appreciate your advice. Thanks.
