Here is my situation.

I was enrolled in a graduate certificate program from a university in BC in April 2022. I completed the required credits in Dec 2022, but I didn’t graduate from the program. Instead, I have been laddered into the master program at the same university from April 2023 and then graduated from the master’s degree program in May 2024. But I didn’t apply for any study visa as the program was designed to be a distance learning program.

Given that part of my program took place during the period of March 2020 and August 2022, should I answer Yes to this question? Thank you!

Have you earned a Canadian degree, diploma or certificate?
Note: to answer yes:

  • English or French as a Second Language must not have made up more than half your study
  • you must not have studied under an award that required you to return to your home country after graduation to apply your skills and knowledge
  • you must have studied at a school within Canada (foreign campuses don’t count)
  • you had to be enrolled full time for at least eight months, unless you completed the study or training program (in whole or in part) between March 2020 and August 2022
  • you had to have been physically present in Canada for at least eight months, unless you completed the study or training program (in whole or in part) between March 2020 and August 2022

So I assume you completed the Master's while you were outside of Canada?
