Question 10 B. on Citizenship application form. CIT0002

B.In past four years, were you in a country or territory other than Canada for 183 days or more in a row (since the age of 18)?

Hello Guys,

I arrived in Canada last Nov 2017 as a tourist and became PR last July 2017. Inland Spouse Application

Four years back, Which is October 2015, Im still at my home country that time then the following month Went to Canada, November 2015.

Do I still have to provide PCC? I was confused between since the age of 18 or the past for years.

What should I follow. past 4 years or since the age of 18?

My answer is NO but confused.

Thank you in advance

Erm, if you landed Canada July 2017, let's assume July 1st, that's 2 years and 3.5 months, which is about 835 days. You need 1095 days to apply, that's another 260 days, as a visitor each day you are here is worth 0.5 days, so you'd need to have been in the country for about 1 year 5 months ...

Now you said you landed Nov 2017 as a tourist, given your PR was July 2017 which is 4 months before you landed I assume you landed Nov 2016. But that's 8 months, you need more. Unless you landed Nov 2015? I mean you said October 2015 and next month but these years are really confusing here.

Now if you are somehow eligible, or I misread something, you need the PCC if you were in your home country for > 183 days in the past 4 years. Whether that time is before or after you were in Canada or a PR is not relevant, it's the last four years. You may well have a PCC for that time frame already (you must do in fact for the PR).. As to if the IRCC will accept a 2-3 year old PCC I'm not sure. I'd include the one you have unless someone confirms you need a new one.

Or, if it takes a long time to get one like in the US get one now. If it's quick like many countries (UK and India I know are quick), I'd just use the old one unless something says not to.

Have you been to home country after you landed to Canada? Oct’15 to Nov’15 is only 42 days, as you said. It’s less than 183 days, so why do you need pcc?

Yes based on this the answer is No. You have not been out of Canada for >= 183 days in the past four years.
