I have a question. My major during graduation goes by not so familiar name (electronic media). My course was basically a combination of computers + digital media say in 50-50 ratio. I work in IT. How can I make sure that I'll get points for my area of training or not? Is there a pre-check or some kind of educational evaluation for this? I don't want to assume and apply to get rejected.

Also Wes gave me masters evaluation for my course for EE. I know Wes thing doesn't work for Quebec, but I would like to know if my course would be considered masters or Bachelors by Quebec.
hi mate

fristly your academic formation gives especific point by other hand your work experience gives another different points nowdays does not matter in what NOC (only a,b or c), my case is similar because i am industrial engineering, master in hydrocarbures and 4 years as DBA in work expereince.

you can pay for "evaluation comparative" it gives you an idea about your credentials in Quebec, source:

OR you can subscribe to "Canada Immigration Newsletter - CICNews.com" so that you do not need to check MIDI website daily. Important news will automatically pop up in your mailbox. This News Letter is distributed by same Immigration Company that runs this forum.

These guys also have a RSS feed.

Credential assessment is not required at any stage of QSW ( PNP/CSQ as well as Federal PR part).

You will submit your transcripts/mark sheets with details of all the courses you have taken in your Bachelors/Masters etc. and MIDI will decide if on degree equivalence.

And it has also mentioned on MIDI website regarding ECA.
Please post link

Thanks buddy. From what I understand from your post, we get points for our education major and for our work experience separately. I hope I got it right.

Thanks for the link for education evaluation too. They haven't mentioned cost and time lines in the link. Any idea about the cost and time it takes for the evaluation? Thanks again. First time ever I am getting accurate answers for Quebec related immigration in this forum!

Please note that I have Bachelors degree from India and Masters from USA and did not need any kind of education evaluation. I received my CSQ from MIDI couple of months back. In fact , this is the first time I am reading about education evaluation. You might want to confirm if you need any Education evaluation before you invest any time or money in it.

I understand. But I have Master degree from India (3 years + 2 years). So I'm not sure if it'd be considered master's or bachelors in Quebec. Wes for express entry evaluated it as master degree. Also my course major is quite unusual one (combination of media + computers). So its not titled computer science or anything like that, but has 50% of courses in computers. So I really need a way to ensure that if I'm claiming valid points.
