Hope we will receive ppr in feb.
Hi,
I really hope that you guys receive PPR in Feb but I feel it's a bit optimistic as there are loads of people who applied in Feb- Aor March are still waiting and then there are all the people who applied in March. My guess would be late March. But I wish I am wrong and you guys are right.

Good luck

hi Smearingo, i am very concerned with my situation right now, i sent the pp by 1-17and today is 2-1,(the return mail is not yet activated) its been 16 days. i think i am the one who taking longest time to get passport back :-[

yes they keep it (of coz!). You could not retain the WP as once you became PR, all your earlier statuses as temporary resident, including all Study/Work Permit, and even the eTA, will be invalidated. (That's why with the passport alone, even if you are from visa-exempt country, under the new rule when eTA was introduced, a PR can only travel back in Canada with PR card)

and importantly, you should still keep the CSQ, they dun need it--and i think it is important to keep it alongside the CoPR.

congrats again @marcomcarneiro and @alemom, it has been great knowing you here in this forum.
(I haven't done SIN and RMAQ yet btw, I think I need a full day-off for those -- possibly early next week). Apart from these two, anything else we should update / do after landing?

@kevindi888, I totally understand your anxiety and frustration. I personally find the waiting period between PPR and CoPR the most difficult. I got some news about 2 weeks after I sent PP copy, but there were others who endured a bit longer time for any update. 16 days are long (esp. when it's at this stage), but it's also within normal timeframe, esp when CIC-Ottawa centralized office sent out a lot of PPR at the same time (and thus got back a lot of our PP packages to process CoPR). And it is a main reason why it could take so long (their bureaucratic system is to blame, if you asked me). But I am quite sure you will get some news very soon (your GC-key/MyCIC account may get updated first).

i am glad that my comment kind of released you from anxiety (even just a bit) :)

from other threads of this forum, I learnt that the time between PPR and CoPR can be as short as several days to as long as a bit more than a month or so. (if it's across salutatory holidays--esp Christmas-New Year time, it's very likely it'd be at least 2 weeks). But for sure, it's very straightforward job at this stage on the CIC side (there are just some obvious things to check and do not require third party such as the case it is in criminality/background check). They are stuck by their own system I would say (even though how efficient they hope to be).

Hi Smearingo,

Just wondering how do you know if your returned envelope is activated?

Have you jotted down the return envelope's tracking number? The lady @ CanadaPost counter suggested I take a photo of the envelope, so that I could track it when it's activated.
