well the check-list i had, it was mentioned to send birth certificate photocopy as well as passport photocopies and o marriage certificate photocopy if you are married.

So you also didn't submitt certified photocopies?

Actually i have but it has a different name. Later when i was admitted to school , my name was different and i have all documents with new name. So i dont want to submit it .

Its not a good idea to conceal information. Find out if there a way to have your birth certificate updated with your current name? In my case, my birth certificate was missing my fathers name. I had that corrected and I was issued a new birth certificate.

I have received my CSQ by Jul 30 and my application to Sydney reached on 17 August 2015. I haven't received a reply yet. Any idea how much time it would take for receiving an acknowledgement?

Thanks for your honest feedback. How did u get it corrected ?

I went to my local Union Council and they guided me. I had to give proof (From-B) in my case which had my father's name. I also had to write an explanation letter and pay a small amount of fee. They issued me the updated birth certificate the very same day.

So I will suggest you to take all the proof you have of your name change to the authority responsible for your birth certificate. I am confident they will have a procedure to update yours.

1. which CSQ number we use in IMM008 ? Numero du dossier
2. Do we need to show any funds in bank ? NO
3. Do we notary attest the photocopies ? (like birth certificate etc) I DID
4. Do we send the file by regular mail or courier ? I have used Courier option (DTDC)
5. I want to pay the fees by credit card which is fine i guess or is there is other preferred option ? (like bank draft) Both options are fine

Hi Guys,

I have a query, As per the 'Contract respecting financial self sufficiency' that we signed when applying for the CSQ, we committed to bringing a minimum amount of Canadian funds into the country to support our first 3 months of stay there. When I applied in 2011 it was CAD2800 for a single person, now I understand it has increased to CAD3016 for a single person.

Is this the minimum amount that I can show at Montreal Airport when I land? because I came across some information on the cic website below about proof of funds for Skilled immigrants which specifies about CAD11,931 for a single person. Is this applicable for all applicants including QSW applicants or only for Express entry Federal selected workers?

I heard that the Immigration officers in Canada sometimes check to see if Immigrants bring in sufficient funds and I'm asking this question because I don't want any nasty surprises when facing Canadian immigration officers. :
