Hello everyone,

Macarad is right. Now it seems they (CIC) have started giving AOR in 55-60 working days. As I got mine in about 54-55 days.
Application reached on 1st sept.
AOR on 23rd Nov. 2016. Currently its showing "Background Check is in Progress".
Looking forward for a medical request.
Good luck to all!!

If your entire file was sent back, I'm guessing you should correct the credit card information and send a new application since they do not start processing anything until they are able to charge you. Maybe some one here has already been through this and can advice you on the matte...

Thank you for information
Do I need to fill out new application or just send them same file with corrected information?
Thank you

When did they charge your credit card?

It seems that you have linked your application to CIC account.
You are right application number is the file number. This number begins with the letter EP******.

Go to your CIC account and click "Check status and message", I believe you will find your AOR.

AOR stands for Acknowledgment Of Receipt. If you are able to see the status of your application under CIC account, then I am pretty sure you have received you AOR(File number which will starts with E#$%@$%^&).
Go back to your account and check it again. Even check the messages. Anyways I got it in email first and then after 24 hours, it got reflected in my CIC account.

Hi, AOR stands for acknowledgment of receipt, it is an automated email you receive saying they have received your file on an specific date. The email they send you doesn't says AOR.

Right now the AOR for Quebec Skilled workers applicants seems to be taking around 90 working days after documents arriving to Sydney NS, although delays seems to be shorter for inland aplicants. My AOR have just arrived today with around 90 working days. I'm from Mexico Visa Office and there are some friends who have also received their AOR in 90 working days.

Regarding the status you see in your CIC account... well, you have succesfully linked your application, as I did more than 45 days ago, and there is no relation between the date you link your application and the date you receive your AOR.

If the AOR delay remain constant, and 90 days delay apply to you, then you should receive your AOR around december 13th.

HI GUYS
does anyone know if you can do your medical before they ask to?
thanks :)

Hi, yes you can But just for your info the medicals are valid for one year + the Visa expiry date at 99.9% is at 1 year ahead counting from the Medicals issue date.

Note: they clearly mention in the AOR that you should not provide extra documents unless they ask for it

"Veuillez ne pas faire parvenir de documents additionnels à moins qu’on vous les demande."

So it would be better, in my opinion, till you get the next communication if you have already got your AOR

Regards,

Hey guys,

It is common to see application status under CIC account, so it does not mean that AOR has been issued. I have linked my application within 8 days days on CIC web page after sending the federal application. Generally, it shows application status is open and file number starts with XEP....until you get AOR then it will be changed to EP...

Hope it helps

Hello Mates!

Planning to make my Masters in Quebec just wondering is it better to apply from inside or outside canada?

Just wondering on few questions if you could clarify:
- If I will graduate from University in Quebec with Masters, will it make me exempt from quota for applications CSQ? (null in French)
- The period I will live during my studies - will it be counted as previous stay in calculation of points?

Thank you all

Rasul

Hi Jagdeep.K.Chatha,

Well, it is a project bro and you need to have a clear Plan to realize it.
the Visa has an expiry date, so You need to do the landing before that date that's one important thing to remember.
You need to have some fund to support yourself/ Family for the first 3 months after your landing...

regards

Hello MissionQuebec,

You probably did not got chance to go thorough the quote properly. The reason I mentioned about "If you are able to see the status of your application under CIC account" was because He already got his account status changed & able to see the background check status as "A background check is needed In Progress ". So in this case he should have got his File number for sure.

Peace.
